GB Pockit – the most popular and smallest lightweight stroller in the World!

Today I would like to share with you my experience with amazing lightweight stroller, design for parents who travel a lot: GB Pockit.

Last few months we spend traveling around the US and we flew a lot. We needed a compact stroller for our baby , something that would fit in the overhead compartment on airplanes, but still provide comfortable ride for the child. We decided to go for GB Pockit, as it was a HIT last year. It has so many positive reviews of other parents, that we couldn’t resist.

I will start with the most important advantages of this lightweight stroller.

It features the smallest fold in the World. Folded stroller dimensions are: 11.8" x 7" x 13.8’". It’s really IMPRESSIVE how compact this stroller is. It folds into small package which we can put in a travel bag, carry on a shoulder, put in a suitcase or normal bag! And it weighs only 9.5 lbs which means it super light to lift and carry, when it’s not in use.

Why this size and weight matter so much?

First of all, thanks to such a lightweight construction and compact fold, GB Pockit is perfect for travel with baby, especially if you travel by plane a lot. I don’t like to gate check strollers – I always fear if the stroller would come out in one piece or if it would be totally destroyed. Besides, I don’t like waiting for it after landing. The ability to keep the stroller and take it on board is really awesome. I like that I don’t have to carry my baby all the way to the airport and wait an hour or half for the stroller. After landing I can simply open the stroller and push it to the airport.

Second of all, it’s great to have a stroller that can be quickly fold into a small package that I can throw to my bag. Especially if you have older child who can walk, but his legs get tired on longer distances. When my baby needs a break and want to sit for a while I open the stroller in few second, when he want to walk again I fold it and carry on a shoulder effortlessly.

GB Pockit has maximum capacity of 55 lbs so it will be suitable also for older children. Although this is a very small stroller it has a decent storage space under the seat with maximum load of 11 lbs. However, storage basket wasn’t my priority, I know that for some parents this bin can be too small.
Another features that I like are: adjustable 5-point padded restrain, easy to use foot-operated brake, easy folding mechanism, high-quality materials and durability, pretty easy steering.

I bought this stroller as a lightweight travel stroller so I wasn’t expecting much. I wanted it to be compact, but of course I didn’t wanted it to be uncomfortable for my baby.

Although the seat is nicely padded and pretty comfy for toddler who likes to sit straight and watching things around (like mine), it can be less comfy for small baby. The seat doesn’t feature recline, so unless your baby can sleep while sitting up, napping on the go is not possible.

I know that the newest version of this stroller, GB Pockit Plus, offers recline seat, but when we bought this stroller, upgraded model wasn’t available yet.

I also wish it has bigger canopy, more like the standard stroller. GB Pockit has small hood that offers really small coverage for the baby. So if you are going somewhere where it is very hot, your baby won’t be actually protected from the sun.

This stroller has also small wheels, which are pretty common among lightweight strollers. Front wheels are lockable for better stability. They can handle flat surfaces, sidewalks or even cobblestone or even gravel paths, but they are not suitable for grass or off-road strolling.

So, whether this stroller is right for you really depends on where you will take it. For me, it was enough and made our trip with 2.5-year-old kid more easy.
