Britax B-Agile vs Britax B-Lively - Which one is better?

The Britax B-Agile and the B-Lively are 2 functionally impressive and highly recommendable baby strollers today.
At a glance, these 2 strollers are quite indistinguishable. But, of course, the newly released 2018 Britax B-Lively is meant to be a replacement for the 2017 Britax-Agile. So, what improvements does it tout? Put in another way, which of these models should you go with?
Here is a list of these 2 strollers’ similarities and differences to help you make an informed decision.
Britax B-Agile vs Britax B-Lively 2019

Similarities
Age and weight recommendations
These 2 strollers are designed to accommodate your baby right from birth and have a maximum child weight of 55 pounds. Both of them have a superb infant headrest to offer the much-needed support for your newborn, and a wide seat that is bound to hold them comfortably till 4 years.
Compatibility
A good thing about the B-Agile and the B-Lively is that they come travel system ready. These strollers have what Britax calls the ‘Click & Go’ system.
This is basically an adapter that allows you to safely attach any Britax car seat to the stroller to convert it into a pram of sorts. You can also use car seats from other brands including Peg Perego, Graco, and Chicco only that you’ll need to purchase a universal adapter separately.
Body design and ease of pushing
As I hinted before, these 2 strollers are a little bit hard to tell from each other in that they are built on the same jogging stroller frame, but with 2 joined swivel front wheels.
Previous buyers can’t stop raving about the ease of maneuverability that this twin front wheel design offers thanks to its small radius.
These strollers are also notably stable- and you’ll also love that the front wheel can be locked into a fixed straight-ahead position to make the stroller even more stable when cruising on bumpy terrains. Note, however, that none of these is an all-terrain stroller.
Sunshade
These strollers’ canopies aren’t the largest in the market. Actually, I can’t compare them with that of the Baby Jogger City Mini. But they are still larger than average and enough to offer the rider ample protection from the wind and sun without the need for an extension or visor.
The canopies also have a large mesh peek-a-boo window that lets you keep an eye on the rider besides offering adequate ventilation.
Single-hand quick fold
Another interesting feature of these strollers is the ability to fold them using one hand- yeah, just like the Mini City. This is an essential component that adds tons of convenience compared to models that require you to pull two triggers simultaneously to fold it, for instance, the Mountain Buggy Nano.
Differences
Weight
The Britax B Agile and the B Lively are incredibly lightweight and won’t miss in most lists of the best lightweight strollers.
If you are after the lightest of them, though, that will definitely be the Agile that weighs 18 pounds. The B-Lively is 2lbs heavier at 20 pounds and might, therefore, tax your muscles a little bit more if you’ll be lifting it up quite often.
Durability
What the B-Lively lacks in lightweight design is made up for by its heftier construction materials. While Britax strollers are generally known for holding up well over time, the B-Lively seems to have the upper hand here.
Storage compartment
These two strollers have a very large storage basket underneath the seat to hold most large diaper bags. The B-Lively, however, do edge the B-Agile yet again with its slightly larger basket.
The height of the handlebar
The major drawback of these Britax strollers is their non-adjustable handlebar. This might be a big deal especially if the stroller is to be pushed by a couple with contrasting heights.
A good thing, however, is that these handlebars are quite tall at 40 inches and 40.5 inches for the Agile and Lively respectively.
Price
The B-Lively is currently cheaper than the Agile. However, the actual price greatly depends on where you buy it.

Britax B-Agile
Pros
  • Very light at 18 pounds
  • Smooth maneuvers
  • Large canopy with peek-a-boo
  • Large storage
Cons
  • Pricier than the B-Lively
  • Relatively less durable
Britax B-Lively Stroller
Pros
  • Seemingly more durable than the B-Agile
  • More storage space
  • Very affordable
Cons
  • 2 pounds heavier than the Agile
  • Requires a little bit more muscle to maneuver
In conclusion…
So, which stroller trumps the other in terms of functionality and adding convenience to your outings?
Well, the B-Lively didn’t bring the much-awaited functional upgrade that we had anticipated. For instance, we really wished to find an adjustable handlebar to fit petite parents comfortably. In addition, at the price of these strollers, it would be much fair if Britax included a bumper bar and a snack tray.

All in all, if affordability is your first consideration and you don’t mind dealing with 2 more pounds, consider the B-Lively. It has a larger storage surface to boot, and it’s more durable. On the other hand, if you are after the lightest stroller of the 2 and don’t mind parting with a few more dollars for this versatility, the Britax Agile is all yours.
